Health Care Reconciliation Action Moves Foward In Congress
Today
Last night the House Budget Cmte. finished working on legislation that provided the groundwork for possible passage of a health care bill. The Budget Cmte. considered a series of motions that provide non-binding guidance to the Rules Committee requesting specific changes to the bill. The Rules Committee will meet mid-week on the bill and with a rule for debate on both the reconciliation bill and the Senate health care bill.

U.S. Economy Focus of Appropriations Cmte. Hearing
Today
As Congress continues work on the jobs bill and holds hearings on the proposed budget for federal agencies, Treasury Sec. Timothy Geithner, OMB Dir. Peter Orszag and Council of Economic Advisers Chairwoman Christina Romer will testify on the economic outlook for fiscal year 2011 before the House Appropriations Cmte.
